Label Christmas Trees And Snow Give Love

We have grown distant, one human to the next is far more removed than we were 10 or 15 years ago. We have grown so accustomed to communicating via technology , very few people know how to carry an actual conversation.

Today is Christmas Eve, a day where gifts are exchanged and families get together to celebrate both religious and cultural customs. We go to the mall and spend boat loads of money on gifts for our friends and family. Yet there is something lacking, I can FedEx a box full of toys, I can wrap sweaters with bows and ribbons, but when was the last time I gave love?

I am not saying to run out to the first person you see today and bear hug them, but have we taken to time to thank those that make our everyday better? Have we stopped to ask how someone is feeling? It doesn’t cost a dime to simply check in on someone. You don’t know what that person may be going through and you asking may lighten their load, it may brighten their day and it may change they perceive things to be. You can have a profound effect on people just by thanking them for their service or paying forward a bridge toll.

We can no longer be void of emotion and human disconnectedness. We can all take time from our lives and show others how much we care, even if you can only spare a few minutes or a few words – it goes a long way.

Doesn’t matter what religion you are, from me to you, I want to wish you all the best during this holiday. For those of us that seek may we find fulfillment, for those of us that have found – may we appreciate what is in our grasp. May you appreciate those that give you love and I pray that you will start to give love to others and yourself. Big Hug!

  1. Amen, I think we all feel more invisible these days in many ways. We don’t realize how easy it is to make someone feel amazing by just recognizing them, talking to them, listening to them and being grateful they crossed our path. I think this holiday is more about sharing than it is about giving. Share the love you have inside with someone else and they will be the richer for it, and pass it on. Many hugs to you, thanks for the inspiration you spark in others and the courage to keep alive what is most important for a happy life for us all. Merry Christmas, and I do think it would be fun to just go out and bear hug people! Many could use it.

  2. Some very wise words here, Shasha. In a time when there seems to be an escalating level of hatred in this world, let there also be peace, light and love. Happy holidays to you and yours!

  3. Thanks for following Colltales, Sasha. As I’m start to read your posts, beautiful feelings of communion and tranquility take over me, and I thank you for that. I’ll stop by again and often. All the best in the new year. Cheers
